The Jedi and the Sith

"Training Jedi is a most rewarding pursuit, but one ringed with many unseen perils.  Never, Oh Master Jedi, rest easy when your pupil begins to grow anxious to learn at a pace greater than that which you have set for him.   Such impatience is natural in the young and inexperienced, and a commendable trait in a student.  But it also signals a time when the pupil is most open to the temptation of stepping onto the broad path of instant gratification and easy advancement that leads to the dark side.  Beware, Jedi Master, lest through carelessness and inattention you loose on the galaxy a monster...."

The Jedi seeks knowledge and enlightenment; peace and harmony.  Together the Jedi strive for peace and are an order dedicated to protecting the galaxy from evil and injustice.

One of the first things a Jedi must learn is the Jedi Code:  There is no emotion; there is peace.  There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.  There is no passion; there is serenity.  There is no death; there is the Force.  This code must be applied to everything a Jedi does and learns.

Though hunted and killed by the Emperor, the Jedi have managed to survive and their numbers grow stronger.  Students with Force ability are searching the galaxy for teachers with knowledge to share.   After the fall of the Empire, several Jedi Academies have arisen and many Jedi Masters have come out of hiding.  Once such Academy is located on the planet of Ambria, where Jedi Master Baba Tune is enlisting students from all over the known galaxy.   But, will it be in time?

The teachings continue.....

The Sith

The sith teachings are very different from the Jedi code.  Whereas a Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, a Sith uses the Force to manipulate the universe to his will.  The Jedi uses the Force passively; a Sith channels the Force by harnessing the power of anger, fear, hate, love,   jealously, and other emotions.  To use the Sith power is harmful to a Jedi.   Only the most advanced and experienced Jedi Masters can (and could) study the teachings of the Sith without going to the dark side.

The dark knowledge of the Sith teachings is thought to have died with Exar Kun.  Even the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, did not know all of the Sith powers; but, somehow the knowledge has survived.  The knowledge of the Great Brotherhood of the Sith has been passed down from generation to generation.  Secret and elusive to even the most learned Jedi, the Sith have been gathering strength since long before the rise of the Empire and the creation of Darth Vader.  Now is the time they have chosen to rise again; the Empire is in shambles and the New Republic has yet to gain hold of the Universe.

Now a new era begins....
